WHATWhat BillNest does
BillNest automatically creates a GST-compliant tax invoice for every paid order, applying the correct CGST and SGST for intra-state sales or IGST for inter-state sales, based on your GSTIN and the buyer's place of supply. It supports HSN and SAC codes, compensation cess, tax-inclusive prices, and gapless per-year invoice numbers. It also issues credit notes, debit notes, proforma invoices, delivery challans, and Bills of Supply, and exports GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B files for your GST returns.

FAQBillNest — common questions
- How does BillNest decide between CGST/SGST and IGST?
- From your GSTIN and the buyer's place of supply: intra-state orders get CGST + SGST, inter-state orders get IGST. Compensation cess and tax-inclusive prices are handled too.
- Does BillNest file my GST returns?
- No. It exports GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B data (Excel and JSON) plus a CSV invoice register; you file on the GST portal as usual.
- Does it generate e-invoices (IRN / QR)?
- Not yet. Where e-invoicing is mandatory for your turnover, you still generate the IRN through an authorised system; BillNest produces the Rule 46 tax invoice and the supporting documents.
- Is there a free plan?
- Yes — up to 50 invoices a month with automatic generation on every paid order. Starter, Growth and Enterprise add credit and debit notes, custom branding, GSTR exports, bulk ZIP, multi-currency and multi-GSTIN numbering.
