RankNest reads Search Console impressions, clicks and average position for the property you choose, using Google's read-only webmasters scope. That data is used for one thing: ranking your own SEO findings by the revenue of the pages they affect. It is never shared, never sold, never used for advertising, and never combined across merchants. Disconnecting in Settings revokes the grant with Google, not just our copy of the token.

- How is this different from the free SEO audits?
- The audit itself is not the hard part — plenty of apps will hand you a list. The hard part is knowing which row is worth your afternoon. RankNest groups every problem by the template that causes it, so a missing description on 400 product pages is one fix and not 400 tasks, and then orders that list by the revenue the affected pages already earn.
- Where does the revenue figure come from?
- From your own data: Search Console clicks and impressions for the affected pages, paired with the orders those pages landed. If either is missing we show a dash rather than a number — you should never see a figure we cannot reconcile.
- Does it change anything in my store?
- No. RankNest has no write permission at all. It reads your storefront the way a search engine does and tells you what to change; every edit is yours to make.
- What does it do with my order data?
- Each new order is reduced, the moment it arrives, to a daily total per landing page — the path without its query string, the day on your clock, a count and a revenue figure. No order id, line items, name, email, address or IP is read or stored. On plans without revenue ranking, orders are not recorded at all.
- Can it tell me which app is slowing my store down?
- It names the script and the page weight it adds, and where the script host maps confidently to a known app it names the app too. Below that confidence it shows the host rather than guessing — wrongly accusing an app is not a mistake you can take back.
- How do I know a fix actually worked?
- Mark it done and RankNest re-crawls the affected pages. If the problem is gone it is closed and the before-and-after is recorded; if it is still there the issue is reopened. Your word is not the source of truth.
